St Anthony’s HSS, Shillong SS win

SHILLONG, April 27: Shillong Secondary School and St Anthony’s HSS won their respective Inter-school LP Das U-15 cricket matches comfortably, here on Wednesday.
In the first match, Shillong Secondary School won the toss and decided to field first against Jail Road Boys HSS and restricted Jail Road Boys to 91/6 in 15 overs. Rajsekher scored a composed 29 runs off 30 balls. For Shillong SS, Chayan Bhatt conceded just 12 runs to finish with figures of 3/12 from 3 overs.
Needing a touch over six an over, Shillong Secondary School lost wickets at regular intervals but thanks to Sandeep Singh’s 24 and Chayan’s 16, they were able to get to 95/7 in 11 overs. Rajsekher took 1/12 for Jail Road Boys HSS.
Later, Gorkha Patshala HSS won the toss and chose to bat first against St Anthony’s HSS but were dismissed for a paltry 69 in 12 overs. Aside from Pintu Kumar Shah (18 off 14 balls) and Rajdeep Paul (16 runs off 13 balls), none of the other batters made significant contributions. Nipon Rabha took 3/7 from his 3 overs while Ashish Lohar claimed figures of 2/10 in 2 overs.
St Anthony’s then blasted their way to 70/1 in only 10.5 overs to win by nine wickets. Ashish hit 22 while Samelawan Nongkseh scored a patient 19. Rajdeep Paul (1/23) was the lone wicket-taker.

Jail Road Boys HSS defeated Gorkha Patshala HSS by 5 wickets. Gorkha Patshala were dismissed for 80 in 13.5 overs before Jail Road Boys scored 81/5 in 13.4 overs.
