CIS awareness programme in WJH

JOWAI, April 29: The Computer Committee, Meghalaya High Court in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Service Authority organised an awareness program on Case Information System (CIS) for lawyers of West Jaintia Hills on Friday.
The programme was held at the Community Hall Tpep-Pale, Jowai.
According to a statement, Judge of Meghalaya High Court, Justice HS Thangkhiew, in his address as the chief guest, highlighted the role of technology in enabling courts to function despite the effects of the pandemic. “The availability of smartphones and internet has greatly helped the courts and lawyers to check the records of various cases”, Thangkhiew said.
He also expressed hope that through CIS, courts and lawyers will be able improve their performance.
