‘Young minds must draw inspiration from Musk, Zuckerberg’

SHILLONG, May 11: The younger generation should look up to modern pioneers such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg as role models so as to come up with new ideas relevant to the time, emphasised Secretary, Planning, GAD, Soil & Water Conservation, etc., Dr Joram Beda, as he spoke as the chief guest of the Techno Exhibition at NIT, Bijni Campus, Laitumkhrah, as part of the National Technology Day celebration.
The programme was organised by the State Council of Science, Technology & Environment (SCSTE) Meghalaya along with the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya under the theme ‘Technology intervention for solving societal problems’.
Executive Director, MBMA, Prime Startup Hub, Meghalaya, Jagdish Chelani, was among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Altogether 23 different prototypes of ideas developed during the projects sponsored by SCSTE Meghalaya were showcased during the exhibition.
In addition to these, other models developed by Design Innovation Centre, NIT-Meghalaya were also exhibited.
ITIE Knowledge Solutions, Bangalore, also presented their device developed for processing of brain signals.
As part of the celebration, students from schools in the adjoining areas of NIT were invited for exposure to the exhibition and different laboratories of the NIT.
The programme will conclude on June 12.
