Gurugram, May 31 : A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly abducting a college girl at gunpoint from outside her college in Gurugram on Tuesday afternoon, the police said.

The girl, a native of Nepal, was a first-year student at the Government Girls college in Sector-14.

The victim was currently living with her parents at a housing society Vatika India Next in Sector-82 in Gurugram.

The girl told the police that she had stepped out of her college along with her friend looking for an auto to return home when the accused Rahul along with his friend reached the spot in his SUV and abducted her at gunpoint.

“The accused also threatened that if she resists he will kill her along with her friend,” the girl told the police.

The accused thrashed the girl inside the SUV and broke her mobile phone.

When the girl cried for help, the accused threatened her with dire consequences and dropped her at Rampura flyover along the Delhi-Jaipur national highway and fled the spot, she told the police.

After the accused fled, the victim’s friend dialled 112 for police assistance which traced both the girls at Rampura flyover.

The girl told the police that she knew the accused Rahul, who stalked her despite refusing his advances, which led to this incident.

Based on a complaint filed by the woman, the accused was nabbed by a police team at the Civil Lines police station a few hours after the incident in Gurugram.

A case under various sections, including kidnapping, was registered against the culprit at the Civil Lines police station in Gurugram, the police said.(IANS)
