Awareness
An awareness programme on oral hygiene was conducted on Friday by the Department of Social Work-(PG), St. Edmund’s College, in collaboration with the Office of the Block Medical and Health Officer, Khat-ar-shnong Laitkroh Block. According to a statement, as many as 160 students partook in the programme. As part of the event, fourth semester students of MSW edified the gathering on the importance of oral hygiene.

Office-bearers
The North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA) has elected its new executive members for the year 2022-23. The elected office-bearers include Prof Lakhon Kma as president, Prof Utpal De as vice-president, Dr Marbhador M Khymdeit as general secretary, Dr Juwesh Binong as joint secretary, Dr JJ Thabah as its treasurer and six other members of its executive committee.

Candle-light vigil
Awaken India Movement will organise a community candle-light vigil from 5 pm on June 6 at Khyndai Lad to demand justice for the two minors who were recently killed in the city.

Pollution test
The Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB), as part of World Environment Day celebrations, will conduct a free vehicular pollution testing camp on Saturday and Monday at Additional Secretariat Parking Lot, Shillong, and Shillong Expressway Mawkhanu, Shillong bypass respectively.

Competition
The Centre of Medical and Sales Representative Union (CRU) organised a chess competition as part of its golden jubilee celebration in the city on Friday. A statement in this regard informed that the competition was participated by as many as 20 people.

As part of the central government’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, William Carey University, in collaboration with Government Degree College, Pachmohani, Uttar Pradesh and NSS Cell organised a national webinar-cum-cultural programme at the BSF multipurpose hall, Umpling, on Friday.
