Traffic police, SMB, others feted in city

SHILLONG, Aug 18: In recognition of their services, a felicitation programme was organsied for the East Khasi Hills Traffic Police, Shillong Municipal Board and the Meghalaya Nursing Council and the Trained Nurses Association of India (Meghalaya Chapter) by the department of Political Science, Mathematics, Statistics and Sociology of Sankardev College, Shillong, in collaboration with the IQAC of the college as part of its Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills Isawanda Laloo was the chief guest of the programme, who also felicitated the representatives of the aforementioned organizations — Sylvester Nongtnger, Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District for the Traffic Police, FB Chyne, Executive Engineer, Shillong Municipal Board representing the SMB, Lucky Warbah, president of Meghalaya Nursing Council representing the Council, and Ivory Kharduit, president of Trained Nurses Association of India (Meghalaya Chapter) representing the Association.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC lauded the services rendered by these organizations and appreciated the college for its programme.
