Masterminds ‘abetting’ infiltration apprehended

SHILLONG, Aug 26: Two purported masterminds from Bangladesh said to be actively aiding and abetting the illegal infiltration of suspected Bangladeshi nationals to India in past couple of months through Kuliang-Ratacherra axis in Meghalaya, were apprehended by a joint team of Umkiang PP, Ratacherra CP and Border Security Force (BSF) under SI S Buam.
The duo was identified as Misba Uddin (31) and Badrul Alom (30).
According to a statement, circa 12 pm on Friday, a group of Bangladesh nationals were spotted in the jungle adjoining the unfenced Indo-Bangla international border near Pyrtakuna village in Jaintia Hills. The forces nabbed two persons while few others managed to flee back into Bangladesh territory.
Misba Uddin is reportedly wanted in several other cases as well, the statement said.
