NEW DELHI, Sept 7: In an interesting turn of events, Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik has been invited to a public rally called by Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on September 25 in Haryana.
INLD leader Abhay Chautala on Wednesday said that the rally will be attended by some of the big political names, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, including other Opposition leaders.
He said INLD supremo OP Chautala has also invited to the rally Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch Parkash Singh Badal, Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav, his father Mulayam Singh Yadav, besides Governor Malik.
An invitation will also be sent to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
The occasion was to mark the birthday of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal. But after Nitish Kumar left the coalition with BJP, this will be the first mega Opposition meeting.
