SHILLONG, Sep 25: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee is yet to switch its election mode on and start the exercise of inviting applications from ticket aspirants for the 2023 Assembly polls due in around five months.
“We are waiting for the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to constitute the MPCC election committee of the MPCC,” State Congress president Vincent H Pala said on Sunday, adding that there are many people who are eager to contest from the Congress.
According to him, the controversies and allegations of corruption against the NPP led MDA Government will benefit the Congress which already enjoys mass support in the state.
“We have a good chance of doing well in the upcoming election,” he added.
