State earns award for its healthcare

SHILLONG, Sep 26: Meghalaya has been awarded as one of the ‘Top Performing States’ for maximum saturation in the population of doctors and nurses in Healthcare Professional Registry in the Arogya Manthan 2022.
The two-day event of the central government aims to celebrate four years of the implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and one year of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The award was presented by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansuk Mandaviya in New Delhi on Monday.
While congratulating the Health department, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the credit should be given to officials and the people working at the grassroots level. “…the programme has been one of the most successful programmes throughout the country. In fact, in terms of the medical insurance that has been provided and this particular word is a testimony to the hard work that has been put in by our team and the grassroots officials,” Sangma said.
