Shillong, Oct 2: Shillong, Oct 2: Meghalaya lost their second match of the Women’s U-19 T20 Trophy to Vidarbha by 75 runs in Hyderabad today.
Both sides won their opening Group B fixtures yesterday, Meghalaya by 7 wickets against Goa and Vidarbha by 9 wickets over Sikkim.
Meghalaya had won their opening match by seven wickets against Goa after a 78-run partnership between Ankita Sharma and Monica Lyngdoh Phawa in Hyderabad.
Today, Meghalaya won the toss and opted to field first but their opponents were able to score at over 6 runs an over to post 129/3. Ankita Sharma (1/22) and Neelam Roy (1/32) claimed a wicket each, while Suriti Kumari Ray effected one run out.
In the chase, Monica Lyngdoh Phawa (12) and Ray (10) managed to get into double figures but it was tough going against the stronger opposition and Meghalaya were restricted to 54/9 in 20 overs.
