SHILLONG, Oct 16: The candidates who have cleared the Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test (MTET) are in dilemma due to the delay on the part of the Education department to issue advertisement for the vacant posts in government lower primary and upper primary schools.
Many of the candidates who have cleared the MTET have almost crossed the upper age limit to apply for government jobs.
It may be mentioned that the Education department had conducted the MTET examinations in 2021.
While speaking to reporters, a section of the MTET candidates said it would be a huge loss for them if they are not able to apply against the vacant posts in government lower primary and upper primary schools due to the delay by the department in announcing the advertisement.
“We are planning to meet the candidates who have cleared the MTET examination in various districts to pressurise the state government to issue the advertisement at the earliest,” they said.
