Vehicles pulled up for retrofit exhaust, tinted glass in city

SHILLONG, Oct 26: Some vehicles were pulled up by the traffic police on Wednesday for retrofitting the exhaust pipe in their automobile, while others for using black films, which is considered an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Subsequently, these vehicles were compounded as per law, and the exhaust pipe was directed to be replaced with the stock system, while the black films were removed on the spot.
The Shillong Traffic Police has said that it will conduct random checking for similar violations, while requesting the public to refrain from any kind of retrofitting. The citizens have also been requested to report such violations on 2215427 or through WhtasApp (6009196479).
The identities will remain confidential.
