SHILLONG, Nov 4: The Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) on Friday inaugurated its office-cum-youth’s recreational centre in Mawlai Kyntonmassar.
It may be mentioned that the FKJGP, 33 years after its formation, will have its full-fledged office now.
Former leaders of the FKJGP including KHADC CEM Titosstarwell Chyne, Sounder Strong Cajee, and leaders of the KSU, JSU, RBYF and HNYF were present on the occasion.
“We took the decision to have our own office during the tenure of former president Wellbirth Rani in 2017. It has been a long wait to finally have our own office,” FKJGP president Dundee C Khongsit said.
According to him, the members of the federation will now have a space to discuss and deliberate over various issues afflicting the state.
Informing that the infrastructure will have space for the youths, he said, “The youth grievances cell will be functioning from this office space. We will try to help and reach out to the youth who are in need of counseling and guidance.”
