Condemnation
The Urdu Society of India Shillong has condemned a statement made by BJP spokesperson FG Shullai against Islam during a programme recently organised at Sankardev College, Shillong. Terming the remark as objectionable, the group said that Shullai’s statement has hurt large section of society, including the Muslims community of Shillong, as it has put the religion in the bad light. The group has also asked the BJP spokesperson to tender an apology and refrain from making such statements in future.
Election
The Seng Samla Wahingdoh has elected Anthony ES Lyngdoh as its president besides other individuals in different positions. The Seng also elected seven new block representatives during the annual general meeting held on November 5.
Meeting
The Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Government of Punjab, will hold a meeting with the tour operators of Meghalaya at 10 am on Thursday at Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Shillong.
