Award
Residents of Meghalaya, who have achieved excellence in sports, have been asked to apply for ‘U Kiang Nangbah Award for Sports’, which will be conferred on January 21, 2023. A statement in this regard informed that award guidelines and application form can be collected from and submitted in the Office of the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, JN Complex, Polo Ground, on or before November 21. “Nomination should contain a brief biographical sketch, principal activities and attainments which justify the award,” the statement said.

Clarification
In the news item captioned ‘Book on Vivekananda’s Shillong visit released’, which was published on November 18 edition of this paper, a section of the write-up should be read as “she said that she had urged the state and central government to preserve the house where he (Vivekananda) had stayed during his visit to Shillong”, and not as published.
