Truck carrying haystacks catches fire in Jorabat

NONGPOH, Dec 1: A truck loaded with haystacks on caught fire after on the Jorabat flyover on Thursday Morning as it was making its way from Kamkuchi, Sonapur, to 11 Mile, Jorabat.
Source said the fire created a sense of panic among the local residents of the area, who then informed the Jorabat Police Outpost about the incident. The fire was finally doused thanks to the prompt action by Dispur Fire and Emergency Services.
The driver of the truck (AS 0 DC 8158) alleged that some of the employees of one of the night super buses were involved in burning the haystacks loaded on his truck. However, the khalasi of the night super bus denied the allegations, stating that he did not know how the truck caught fire.
The Khalasi said while they were travelling from Duliajan towards Guwahati along with other 19 passengers, a truck hit them and fled from the scene. After a while, they saw the truck had caught fire at the Jorabat flyover
