SHILLONG, Dec 6: Umroi MLA George B Lyngdoh has informed that the vehicular movement on the Dwar Ksuid bridge is being regulated even as he has revealed that inconveniences persist.
Hoping that nothing goes awry this time, Lyngdoh said the bailey bridge is being used for one-way traffic.
When enquired if he is content with the work, he said, “I was never satisfied with the fact that this entire episode had to happen and the side of the bridge had to come crumbling down. If they had taken timely action, we would have gotten a new bridge by now.”
Taking a jibe at the state government, he said, “I feel like we are like soothsayers. We had already predicted that the infrastructure would crumble, and they did.”
It may be mentioned that the construction work for a new bridge, which will replace the Dwar Ksuid bridge, is on, and is expected to be completed in the next 3-4 months.
The programme was also attended by Nongstoin MLA Macmillan Byrsat, MLA Gigur Myrthong, PWD officials, locals, village elders, etc.
