City’s Malayali community holds pre-Christmas celebrations

SHILLONG, Dec 10: The Malayali community in Shillong on Saturday organised a pre-Christmas celebration at Shillong Club, which was attended by Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department Dr. P Shakil Ahmed as the chief guest.
According to a statement here, a senior member of Malayali community CO Koshy urged the gathering to follow the message of Christmas of spreading, love, peace, sharing and forgiveness.
Central Puja Committee (CPC) president Naba Bhattacharjee, on the other hand, appreciated the religious camaraderie displayed by the Malayali community.
During the celebrations, the North East Development Foundation, led by Thomas Baby, also provided monetary benefits to students of the state.
Others who were part of the programme include All India Malayali Association Meghalaya president Pradeep Pillai, secretary Aquarius Mathew, treasurer Anoop K, et al.
