NONGPOH, Dec 12: One person was killed and another sustained grievous injuries in a road mishap in Ri-Bhoi on Monday.
Whilst the body of the deceased, who has been identified as Sunil Deka, was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for autopsy, another, identified as Vidyut Dolay, was admitted to Byrnihat PHC for treatment.
As per sources, the incident took place on National Highway 6 at 12 Mile under Byrnihat Police Outpost.
After receiving information, Byrnihat police personnel rushed to the spot to investigate the matter.
A case has also been registered in this regard and efforts are on to nab the unknown vehicle involved in the accident.
