Conviction
The Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (J), East Khasi Hills, has awarded one Rocky Pala 11 months of simple imprisonment over a case of theft. According to a statement, an FIR was registered at Rynjah Police Station that one two-wheeler (ML054-2756) was stolen. A police investigation was subsequently launched, leading to the arrest of Pala from Mookyrdup village. He was then tried in the court, which found him guilty and awarded him simple imprisonment.
Unclaimed body
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Shillong Civil Hospital, has informed that one unknown male patient aged 50 years was admitted in the Male Surgical Ward, Bed No. 19, at 09:54 pm on December 13. He, however, passed away the next day. “All concerned relatives etc are requested to collect the body from the morgue of the hospital immediately, failing which it will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board,” a statement in this regard said.
