Kharsyntiew clan clears confusion over ties with other clans

SHILLONG, Dec 18: The Kharsyntiew clan decided not to recongise any other clan at the 5th dorbar of the clan, which was held in Sumer, Ri-Bhoi district, recently.
General secretary of the Seng Kur Kharsyntiew, Allfondbirth Kharsyntiew, said that they have decided not to have any association with other clans.
“We have taken this decision since we found that there is huge confusion by having an association with other clans,” he said.
The new office-bearers were elected on the occasion. They are Donborsing Kharsyntiew (president), Allfondbirth Kharsyntiew and Wanpynhun Kharsyntiew (general secretaries), Alex Kharsyntiew (vice president), Victory Kharsyntiew (treasurer) besides the executive members.
The new office-bearers of the Seng Samla Kur Kharsyntiew Central Body were also elected — Panbor Kharsyntiew (president), Albisforth Kharsyntiew (general secretary) besides secretaries of the various committees.
The Seng Kur Kharsyntiew also felicitated three women members of the clan with the award ‘U syniang u Bynhei’ for winning the national and state teachers’ award in the previous years.
It was also decided that tthe 6th dorbar of the clan will be held at Nongspung village in East Khasi Hills.
