Zenith raps Assam BJP

TURA, Dec 28: The Garo Hills unit of the Trinamool Congress has come down heavily on the BJP government in Assam for seeking details on the number of Christian churches besides other information relating to Christians in the state.
TMC MLA Zenith M Sangma said, “We have been saying on a regular basis that in different parts of the country, particularly in BJP-ruled states, this kind of vandalism on Churches and attacks on religious leaders and Church leaders are being reported. This is basically an indication that BJP has got its hidden agenda, and they are trying to fulfil it.”
Stating that Meghalaya TMC cannot turn a blind eye to the developments in the neighbouring state, Zenith said his party would not remain a silent spectator and fight collectively against the atrocity.
The Rangsakona MLA also added that such incidents against Christians had never been witnessed before in the Northeast and that it was happening only after the BJP came to power in Assam.
