Sanbor lays base for city road project

SHILLONG, Jan 12: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai on Thursday laid the foundation stones for a road construction project in a bid to ease the traffic flow and ensure safety of school and college-going students, and the public of Greater Laban Area.
According to a statement, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a PWD road from Jingkieng Kong Nora Hynniewta up to the existing PWD road at Mawnei, Lower Lumparing, to connect the existing Streamlet Road Laban.
Sanctioned under SPA Scheme 2022-23 for Rs 4.5 crore, the implementation of the project, according to Shullai, will start immediately.
Shullai has, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to the landowners for donating their lands for the projects.
It may be mentioned that the programme was attended by Rangbah Shnong of Lower Lumparing Doncaster Shabong, Rangbah Shnong of Upper Lumparing HB Wahlang, Rangbah Shnong of Kynjat Phutbol-Riat Laban Shaiphar Wahlang, members of MCIC South Shillong constituency and residents of the area.
