Resignation
Diosstarnes Jyndiang, former MLA of Nongstoin, resigned from the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Monday. Jyndiang, who was a treasurer in HSPDP central body, submitted his resignation letter to party president KP Pangniang. It may be mentioned that Jyndiang is reportedly set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on January 18.
Dak Adalat
A circle-level Dak Adalat will be held in the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong, at 11 am on February 17 to entertain and subsequently address the public grievances pertaining to postal services. In this regard, written complaints will have to be sent via ordinary post or speed post so as to reach the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, NEC, on or before February 13.
Unclaimed body
The Additional Director of Health Services (SS), Shillong Civil Hospital, has informed that one patient, identified as Sarkar Paul (38), a resident of Lawmali, Polo, was admitted in bed number 30 of the Male Medical Ward-I on January 10. He, however, passed away on January 14. Meanwhile, all concerned have been asked to collect the body from the hospital morgue, failing which the same will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
