Chief Secy reviews poll preparedness in SGH

TURA, Feb 16: Chief Secretary DP Wahlang and DGP Lajja Ram Bishnoi on Thursday visited South Garo Hills and reviewed the poll preparedness at Circuit House Baghmara.
District Election Officer S Awasthi highlighted the various preparations done by the district for the ensuing elections. He also informed that South Garo Hills has 161 of polling stations out of which 11 are under urban and 146 under rural areas.
Stating that South Garo Hillshas a history of peaceful conduct of elections, he however informed that as a preventive measure regular foot and mobile patrols are conducted by police in coordination with different intelligence agencies.
