Dasakhiatbha Lamare, NPP candidate from Nongkrem constituency, is on his way to the counting centre. While speaking to media persons, he expressed confidence that the NPP will emerge as the single-largest party with at least 33-34 seats in its kitty. UDP’s Lambor Malngiang, who is the sitting MLA of Nongkrem, and VPP president Ardent Basaiawmoit are the top contenders for the seat. Allegation of distribution of money was the highlight of the election campaign in this constituency.
