Decapitation case: Cops on the hunt for two suspects

SHILLONG, March 10: Following the sensational decapitation case, which has become the talk of the town, police have revealed that the victim was last seen with two of his friends, who were supposedly in an inebriated state.
Interestingly, both suspects are now on the run and police have launched a hunt to nab them.
According to DIG Eastern Range Davis Marak, preliminary investigation had revealed that a missing report was filed on March 3 at Lumdiengjri Police Station.
The victim was supposedly missing from February 26 and when police followed up the matter, they came to know that the person was last seen with two of his friends, who were supposedly drunk, Marak said.
He added that the police have now filed a zero FIR after it was established that it is a case of murder.
The case is now being transferred to Lumdiengjri Police Station and they would take up the case, Marak said, adding that the suspects are now on the run.
It may be mentioned that the severed head of the victim, identified as Omeka Myrthong, was recently found on the bank of Umiam Lake.
On Wednesday, remaining parts of the body were recovered from the bank of the lake.
Incidentally, while one of the arms of the victim was found afloat the lake, the rest of the body was unearthed.
The victim, a resident of Mawlaingut, East Khasi Hills, is survived by his five children.
