Shillong, March 13: History was created today after Naatu Naatu song won the Oscars 2023. It became the first song from any Indian movie to win the best song category.
SS Rajamouli’s RRR had already won accolades across the world for being a unique movie. Naatu Naatu song had gone viral soon after its release across the world.
Naatu Naatu won the best original song award at the Oscars 2023. The song beat other nominees in the category including Applause (Tell It Like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Panther Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once). Music director MM Keeravaani accepted the award for Naatu Naatu.
It is the second Hindi song to win the Oscars in this category. Slumdog Millionaire won one in 2009 in the same category.
The audience at Oscars 2023 witnessed on stage performance on Naatu Naatu and were left enthralled.
