IIT-G student drowns in SWKH

MAWKYRWAT, March 13: A 25-year-old student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati drowned at Od Ringai natural pool located in Mawten village, 2 km from Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills. The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Kumar Mandal, who was an MTech (Civil) student of IIT Guwahati.
Mandal and four others were on a two-day trip and were visiting Od Ringai. While swimming in the pool in the morning, Mandal drowned. The body was retrieved by the Fire & Emergency Services personnel and brought to Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital in the evening.
