Govt committed to resolve boundary disputes in totality: Meghalaya CM

Shillong, March 21: Opposition VPP MLA Ardent Basaiawmoit today questioned the State Government over the safety of residents along the Assam-Meghalaya disputed boundary areas.

Raising a question during the question hour in the state Assembly, Ardent Basaiawmoit said that there is constant dear among the minds of people as the gentleman approach of Meghalaya has only emboldened Assam Government to even claim Mukroh.
In reply, Chief minister Conrad Sangma said that the government was committed to resolve even remaining six areas of dispute along the inter-state boundary.

He also stated that the Government was strengthening police presence and infrastructure along the state boundary areas.
