Shira elected Dy Speaker for a second term

SHILLONG, March 20: Veteran politician and NPP’s Resubelpara legislator, Timothy D. Shira was on Monday elected unopposed for a second successive innings as Deputy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
Assembly Speaker, Thomas A Sangma announced the election of Shira since he was the only candidate in fray for the post.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and senior TMC legislator Mukul Sangma greeted Shira after his election to the chair.
