State govt monitoring Covid situation

SHILLONG, April 2: With most states in the country reporting a sudden spurt in Covid cases and the central government advising the state to maintain caution, the state government has begun closely monitoring the situation.
A Health official on Sunday said that as of now there is only active case in East Khasi Hills which was reported on Saturday.
The Health Department has protocols for those who have been affected and health employees here are conducting drills as part of a nationwide exercise, the official said.
“As of now, there is nothing to be alarmed of but we are taking all measures,” the official said.
India reported 3,823 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, a jump of 27% jump from Saturday, according to the Health Ministry data.
At 18,389, the active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections. The national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.77%, according to the Health Ministry website.
