TURA, April 6: The All Meghalaya Minorities Students’ Union (AMMSU) on Thursday resented that no candidates from the non-tribal category were selected for the recently held personal interview as part of the recruitment to various posts by the Police department. They have demanded that the already finalised list be rectified with inclusion of those from the said community.
In a complaint to the Chairman of Central Recruitment Board in Shillong, the union alleged that neither the state reservation policy had been followed nor the recruitment had been done as per the Roster System, as directed by the High Court of Meghalaya.
“We demand that the list is rectified immediately with the inclusion of candidates who are deserving bona fide residents of Meghalaya,” the union said.
It may be mentioned that the recruitment in question was conducted for various posts in the department, including UBSL, UBC, ABC/BNC, MPRO, Fireman, Driver Fireman, Driver Constable, Follower etc.
