Peace meeting held in city

SHILLONG, May 5: A day after a minor scuffle erupted between a group of Kukis and Meities in the city on Thursday in what is being described as a spillover effect of the violence in Manipur, the State police on Friday organised a meeting between leaders of the two communities to ensure peace.
During the meeting, both communities were provided with tips on how to maintain peace and harmony.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, DGP, LR Bishnoi said the community leaders from both sides have assured that they would maintain peace and overcome any misunderstanding.
