Shillong College organises seminar on sustainable devp

SHILLONG, May 5: The Department of Commerce, Shillong College, and the North East India Commerce and Management Association (NEICMA) organised the 6th annual conference of NEICMA and an international seminar on ‘Sustainable Development: Business Policy and Management Practices’.
According to a statement here, the programme was attended by Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor Dr BDR Tiwari as the chief guest and Tripura University Vice Chancellor Prof. GP Prasain as the guest of honour.
Shillong College principal, Dr. E Kharkongor, in her speech, emphasised that deliberations during the seminar on sustainable development will give a fruitful outcome for policymakers.
Tiwari, on the other hand, reminded everyone to imbibe Gautama Buddha’s middle path of life to achieve sustainable development.
Dr Akbaruddin Ahmad, Chairman of Project Research and Consultancy PRC (bd), Bangladesh, spoke about the potential of the Tourism industry in Northeast India, particularly in Meghalaya, and ways to ease the travelling of tourists in the state.
He also encourages the students to be job creators and not to be job seekers.
