14 killed in bus accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone

Shillong, May 9: A bus fell off a bridge in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone on Tuesday in which 14 passengers were killed and nearly 20 injured.

Over 50 people were riding the bus at the time of the accident, according to the reports.

When the bus skidded off the bridge and plunged to the ground below, it was on its way to Indore.

Rescue efforts were launched by locals in the vicinity, and those hurt in the disaster were sent to a nearby hospital.

The Madhya Pradesh government announced Rs 4 lakh in ex-gratia to the surviving family members of the victims.

The state government also declared that it will pay Rs 50,000 for those who were severely injured.
