Capacity building prog for government officials

SHILLONG, May 15: A three-day capacity building programme for government officials under the ‘PA Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research’ to strengthen the capacity of key functionaries involved in rendering a range of public services, welfare programmes and core governance functions that enable policymakers to serve citizens efficiently and effectively, got under way here on Monday.
The programme is being organised by the Department of Law in collaboration with the Sambodhi Research & Communication Pvt. Ltd.,.
Law Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh was the chief guest during the inaugural function held at the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI), Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong Township.
The fellowship aims to equip the officers to gain on-ground experience in areas of law and policy by providing technical support for senior law officers and other senior officers across different government departments at the state and district levels.
Director MATI, Ram Kumar S, Secretary of Law Department, CVD Diengdoh, Economist-Policy Advisor & Evaluator, Prof AK Shiva, and Chief Knowledge Officer of Sambodhi Research & Communication Pvt. Ltd, Dharmendra Chandurkar, among others were present during the inaugural programme.
