Mudslide
Vehicular movement along the NH-06 in East Jaintia Hills was on Saturday morning temporarily affected following a mudslide at Sonapur tunnel. After a few hours, the debris from the mudslide was cleared and the two-way traffic reopened. It may be mentioned that the particular stretch is prone to mudslides and landslides, and several such instances have been reported from the area in recent times.

Camp
The Office of the District Mission Coordinator, SSA, West Jaintia Hills, in collaboration with Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), West Jaintia Hills, and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), organised an assessment camp from May 24 to 26 at Thadlaskein, Laskein and Amlarem C&RD Blocks. The camp was organised with an aim to help the children with disabilities by providing them wheelchair, CP chair, crutches, smart cane, braille kits, multi-sensory inclusive educational kits, hearing aids, etc.
