Shillong, June 1: In the FIR lodged with police, the father of the 16-year-old victim Sakshi said that his daughter had been friends with the accused named Sahil for the last one year.

The girl, who was attacked with 21 stabs by a 20-year-old in Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy neighbourhood in Rohini, died on spot.

“My daughter would frequently mention Sahil in our presence, but we would remind her that she was still young and that her top focus should be her education. She would become irate and go to her friend Neetu’s whenever we tried to explain this to her”, according to the victim’s father.

“Sakshi had been residing with Neetu for the previous ten days, he continued. When Sakshi’s friend Neetu came to tell us that a man named Sahil had attacked Sakshi with a knife and stones that fateful night, I was at home” he said.

In his FIR, Sakshi’s father said that his daughter had argued with Sahil the day before her murder. The father of the victim stated in the FIR, “When I arrived at B Block Shahbad Dairy with Neetu, there I found my daughter Sakshi lying dead with injuries to her head.”

Sakshi suffered 21 stab wounds. The assault was so vicious that at one point the murder instrument, a knife, got stuck in her head. A short while later, the murderer picked up a boulder that was nearby and began hitting the victim.
