Shillong writer earns accolade

SHILLONG, June 14: City-based writer Salil Gewali was awarded the ‘Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Rashtra Gaurav Samman’ for his remarkable contribution to the nation, at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati.
The award, given by the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Foundation of Howrah, West Bengal, was formally presented to Gewali by the Governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria.
During the special programme of the book launch at Raj Bhavan, the Urdu edition of Gewali’s acclaimed book ‘Great Minds on INDIA’ was also released by the Governor. Various distinguished scholars and guests from Kolkata, Assam, Meghalaya and Manipur attended the programme.
The Governor of Assam enthusiastically lauded Gewali for his distinctive contribution to the country.
