SHILLONG, June 26: The all-party committee on reservation and the expert committee will examine the representation submitted by the Meghalaya Indigenous Minority Tribes’ Forum demanding 15% reservation, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Monday
The Forum has demanded 15% reservation for the Rabha, Boro, Hajong, Koch and Mann tribes of the state. These tribes are currently given 5% reservation in the category of “Other Scheduled Tribes”.
The chief minister said the representation from the Forum has been forwarded to the all-party committee and it will be also given to the expert committee for examination once it is constituted.
