Shillong, July 4: In Hyderabad, a female staff member at a skin and hair clinic allegedly stole a diamond ring valued at Rs 30.69 lakh from a customer. Fearing detection, she flushed the ring down a toilet commode, as revealed by the police on Monday.

During the investigation, with the assistance of a plumber, the police retrieved the ring from the pipeline connected to the commode. Subsequently, the woman employee was arrested on charges of theft.

According to the police, the complainant, a woman, visited the clinic in the upscale area of Jubilee Hills for hair removal. The staff member who conducted the procedure instructed her to place the ring in a box, which she did.

Upon reaching home, the complainant realized that she had forgotten her ring at the clinic. She inquired with the staff about it and subsequently filed a police complaint.

Following the initiation of the investigation and questioning of the clinic staff, the woman employee who had taken the ring admitted to stealing it and keeping it in her purse. However, she confessed to disposing of the ring in the washroom’s commode at the clinic out of fear of being caught by the police.
