Shillong, July 19: After announcing ‘INDIA’ as their front’s name, the opposition selected ‘Jeetega Bharat’ as the tagline to challenge the BJP in the 2024 general election.

The decision was made during late-night deliberations and is expected to be replicated in various regional languages, PTI reported.

During the Bengaluru conclave, leaders of 26 Opposition parties named the alliance I.N.D.I.A – Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, and felt that the word “Bharat” should be included in the alliance’s name. Eventually, it was decided to feature it in the tagline.

The tagline, focusing on “Bharat,” aims to counter the BJP’s “Bharat vs India” line of attack in the upcoming polls.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced the name of the Opposition front and emphasized that the 2024 election would be a battle against the BJP’s ideology and thinking. He asserted that India would always emerge victorious in all fights.

In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will seek a third term, defined the NDA as representing New India, Developed Nation, and the Aspirations of people and regions. He referred to the Opposition conclave as a meeting of corrupt individuals with a focus on family interests.
