City set to host Commonwealth Parl conference

SHILLONG, July 25: Shillong is gearing up to host the 20th annual conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), India Region Zone III to be held here from July 28 to August 1.
The event would be inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla.
Plenary sessions and deliberation on topics like natural disasters and strategies for management with special reference to the Northeast and regional connectivity to bring the region at par with mainland India will be held as part of the event.
