Shillong, August 9: An Indian couple embarked on a journey to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to locate their missing son, only to discover him dead, a distressing incident reported by The Khaleej Times revealed.

Tragically, the son had succumbed to a heart attack, and his lifeless body had remained unnoticed for an extended period, as he led a solitary existence with minimal interactions, according to the report published on Tuesday.

The parents, who had been estranged from their son for over a decade, had been in communication with him, pleading for his return to their homeland. However, he had declined their requests.

As narrated by social worker Ashraf Thamarassery, the son had encountered difficulties in his hometown following the dissolution of his engagement. “Subsequently, he never returned home,” Thamarassery told The Khaleej Times.

Growing increasingly concerned due to their prolonged lack of communication, the parents took the decision to travel to the UAE in a desperate attempt to locate their son. Armed with limited information, they embarked on a quest to discover his whereabouts, knocking on numerous doors in their search for his residence.

After days of ardent searching, the parents eventually succeeded in identifying their son’s dwelling, only to be confronted with the truth of his demise.

Making their way to the morgue, the grief-stricken parents formally identified their son’s lifeless body and completed the necessary procedures for repatriation.
