High consumption of tobacco among children, especially in uniform, prompted the Dorbar Shnong Umsaitsning Ladmawrong along with the VDP team to take a test
of various shops within and outside the village. The exercise, conducted on August 23, exposed the uselessness of directives and notice boards cautioning against sale
of tobacco products to school students as many shops allowed children to buy it.
The Dorbar has suggested that local organisations such as the VDP, Seng Samla,
Seng Longkmie etc., should be roped in to tackle this issue. (Photo contributed)
