Ayushman Bhava launched in EGH

TURA, Sep 19: East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Aggarwal, on Tuesday officially launched the Ayushman Bhava campaign with the theme, “An.seng Baljokani”, in the district in a function at Vocational Training Centre of AH & Veterinary Department at Williamnagar.
Launching the campaign, the Deputy Commissioner, urged the people of the district to grab the facilities being provided by the government through various departments like Health, Social Welfare, Agriculture, etc., and at the same time urged the officials of all the line departments not to leave anyone behind in providing the services and facilities.
Delivering the key-note address, Dr LM Sangma, DMCHO, stressed on the importance of registration for MHIS and ABHA for availing health care services. He also stressed on the need for screening for early detection of Non Communicable Disease (NCD) or the killer disease and urged the people of the district to avail the free health care services being provided the Health department.
Dr. Jimmy Carter Ch Marak, Senior Medical and Health Officer, spoke on the importance and benefits of blood donation while Madonna T Sangma, District Social Welfare Officer, deliberated on Rashtrya Poshan Maah and informed that the month of September is being celebrated all over India as nutrition month.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Seldin N Sangma, Block Development Officer of Songsak C&RD Block.
During the launching of campaign, MHIS cards and vegetable seed also were distributed by the Deputy Commissioner to the selected beneficiaries.
Free NCD and TB screening, aadhar enrolment, MHIS and ABHA registration, etc. also were made available to the people of the district on the day. Poshan Maah stall, malaria testing centre and others also were set up at the venue as part of creation of awareness to the local people.
