Seven Bills tabled in Assembly

SHILLONG, Sep 20: As many as seven Bills were introduced in the Assembly on Wednesday.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma introduced the Capatain Williamson Sangma Technical University (Amendment) Bill 2023, and also the Rajitlal University (Repealing) Bill 2023, while the Minister in-charge Taxation, AT Mondal introduced the Meghalaya Goods and Secrvice Tax (Amendment) Bill 2023.
Chief Minister in-charge of Home (Political), Conrad K Sangma introduced the Meghalaya Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill 2023. Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Parliamentary Affairs, Prestone Tynsong introduced the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya (Members’ Pension) (Amendment) Bill 2023.
The last two Bills were introduced by Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh. They were the Meghalaya Medical Council (Amendment) Bill and the National Law University of Meghalaya (Amendment) Bill 2023.
During the proceedings, Deputy CM Tynsong also announced that another member will be elected to the post of Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts for the remaining term of the Committee in view of the resignation tendered by Saleng Sangma from the position.
