Guwahati, Sept 22: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) general manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava on Friday took stock of the progress of work at Lanka, Lumding and Dimapur stations which are to be re-developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Notably, Lanka, Lumding and Dimapur stations will be revamped at an estimated cost of Rs 30.1 crore, Rs 40.8 crore and Rs 265.6 crore respectively under the scheme.

The NFR general manager thoroughly inspected the plans of new station building, crew lobby, foot overbridge, platform and other passenger amenities.

During his inspection he interacted with the media and briefed them about the various developmental activities that have been carried out in the zone in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Railway Board.

Further, the general manager held a meeting with the traders, businessmen and different stakeholders at Dimapur in a bid to boost logistics and transportation  and also enable more products from Nagaland to reach different parts of the country and beyond.

It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had last month laid the foundation stones for redevelopment of a total of 508 railway stations across the country.
